Beside the temples, a good place to discover some of the things in Northern Thailand history is the museum. Artifacts from the early civilizations: pottery from Ban Chiang, Dvaravati land stones, Khmer ancient tools (the only ones outside of Cambodia), musical instruments. Khon Kaen is one of the places where dinosaur bones were found and the museum displays some fossil exhibitions. Don't go on Mondays and Tuesdays 'cause it's closed. The ticket is 30Baht.
