general in response to snoper's question: What is the best spot to take pictures of Phuket Town?(give a different answer) .
I was in Phuket Town myself last year while on vacation in Thailand, and during my 3 days stay there I walked up this hill called the Khao Rang and I could take some very nice panoramic shots of the town. From up there you can see the sea and the jungle too. It's on the northern part of the town, but I'm sure you can't miss it.
